How to be Thankful

Writing a list of the things you are thankful for can help you appreciate what you have, and make sure you don't take anything for granted. It can help if you're feeling low, hard done by or anxious. It's a good daily habit to get into to count your blessings.
  1. I am thankful that I have such an amazing partner in Jack. He is all that I ever want.
  2. I am thankful that our country / banks helps students out financially.
  3. I am thankful that I have a warm and safe home.
  4. I am thankful that I have people around me who help me with my anxiety.
  5. I am thankful that I have found a skill in photography and art.
  6. I am thankful that I find comfort in books and reading.
  7. I am thankful for my family - however dysfunctional and bonkers they may be.
  8. I am thankful for the people who believe in me.
  9. I am thankful for the material things that I own and cherish.
  10. I am thankful that I have delicious food.
I challenge you to write a list of the things you are grateful for today, and see how much your perspective changed.

 Watching:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban
Listening: Avril Lavigne - Avril Lavigne (2014 Album)
Reading: Game of Thrones the Graphic Novel
Looking Forward To: Seeing Jack tomorrow, my birthday in 4 weeks!
Feeling: ... had a tough week!

21 things to when I'm 21

I recently saw this post by Jennie, and it completely inspired me to make my own bucket list. Because I have so recently finished university and I'm out in the big wide world, I am finding myself more and more inclined to create a list of the things that I want to accomplish. Not to mention I am a sucker for writing lists and checking things off. My birthday is not until June 21st, but I thought I would get in there early.

  1. Move in with my boyfriend.
  2. Find a full time job.
  3. Stick to my blog routine.
  4. Create a photo album
  5. Do something for charity.
  6. Go to the theatre.
  7. Stay in London.
  8. Eat more fresh food and stay the same weight.
  9. Work on my own photography series.
  10. Finish a big crochet project.
  11. Read 25 books.
  12. Make an effort to be more organised.
  13. Reach 250 blog followers.
  14. Continue painting with watercolours.
  15. Be kind and forgiving.
  16. Own The Sims 4.
  17. Have a clear out.
  18. Re-read the Harry Potter series.
  19. Make more time for seeing friends.
  20. Own a cat.
  21. Make an effort to be positive and happy.
I will check back on 21st June 2015 to see if I have accomplished any of these!

All You Need is Dove

For me, Dove reminds me of my childhood. It's a brand that my mum has always favoured and I remember that our bathroom used to always smell like the delicious creamy smell that is so recognisable for Dove products. It's rare that I ever like a brand and all it's products so much - but Dove has really impressed me.

Over the last few weeks I have been using a few Dove products in the bath and shower - exclusively. I got a gift set of for Christmas and fell in love with the super moisturising and gorgeous smelling products. And do you know what attracts me the most? They really feel like you are pampering yourself - and I love that. There is nothing like feeling pampered after a long day and not breaking the bank.

The Dove Bath Cream will always be a super staple for me. It produces lovely creamy bubbles in your bath, and you feel like you're really getting some moisture and pamper treatment in there too. Beautiful smell. Great formula. There's not too much you can say about Bath Creams apart from that this ticks all the boxes!

Most recently I have started using the Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. I bought it because my hair was just feeling very dry at the ends and just looked a bit unhealthy. I love these products so much. They make my hair feel super soft and shiny and the most nourished it has ever been. Not even some of the hair masks I have used have compared to how this feels! If your someone who likes voluminous hair or bouncy flat iron curls I would recommend you limit using it to once a week as it is very moisturising. But for anyone with dry hair it's a complete godsend. I don't know how it does it!

Lastly - the Dove Go Fresh Body Washes. I always think it's a bit weird when people talk up body washes. It's like 'how can a body wash be that good? It doesn't do anything. And yes, I get that. But this smells sogoddamnamazingjustohmygod kind of amazing. It's so moisturising too. It's the kind of product that I limit myself using because I don't want it to be used up too quickly. It's my 'special occasion' pampering product (which is pretty much every day - celebrate the smal, things!).

Hope you guys like this post,

Life is a Mixture of Good Things and Bad Things

This quote from Doctor Who is one that I come back to time and time again. I am a huge bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my life, and I often get really bummed out because one small detail has thrown everything off. For example, at new year I made the resolution to always make an effort to be happy and positive in a bad situation. I did very well for a few weeks, and then occasionally would forget and I would find myself thinking 'another year is lost then'. Seeing this quote helps me so much - just because one thing happens which is not good, is your fault, or that isn't what you want doesn't mean that it spoils all of the good and positive things that have already happens. It's okay to make mistakes and it's okay if something goes wrong - it's all part of being human. What really counts is that you just keep going!

Finishing University & A New Blog Routine!

Hellooo there wonderful person, and welcome to the very first Friday life post here on Rabbitwood. I have a whole new scedule of posts lined up for thew future and they will all be following this new routine. On Mondays I will be writing about positivity - this can cover a whole host of different things from positive thinking and health to dealing with anxiety and recipes to kick start your day. On Wednesdays I will be blogging about beauty, makeup and skincare. Reviews, hauls - you name it, I can cover it here. And last, but certainly not least, on Fridays I will be posting life and lifestyle posts. A lot of these will be what I've done in the week, and also maybe some things like book reviews and tags. The blog is my oyster. I am so excited to get this started.

This week and last have been a huge deal for me, mainly because it involved setting up my degree exhibition, submitting my last and mot important deadline, and finishing my degree completely. We had to completely build our degree show from the ground up, so a lot of time was just spent painting a load of walls a matte bright white colour and getting covered in speckles of paint in the process (but all part of the fun, eh?!). I took a bit of a risk with my final piece by presenting the photos in small rounded tanks of water. I've had loads of great comments about it so far, so *breathes* it's now all set up and ready to be marked by the tutors and opened to the public over the next couple of weeks.

I actually found leaving university a lot more stressful than I thought I would. For the first couple of days I just felt like crying, and I was really quite anxious! A week on I've kind of got used to it now, but the prospect of needing a job to survive is still really scary! I have applied to a lot of places that I feel are appropriate and now it's just waiting to hear for a call / text back. *fingers crossed*

However, I have had a little (big) project up my sleeve to keep myself very busy over the last week too. A couple of weeks ago myself and a few others started work on a 'Happy' video to promote my hometown. Inspired by the original by Pharrell Williams and other remakes, we got as many people from the community involved as we could and and I was in charge of filming and editing. I finished the final, FINAL version about two hours ago. It's launching on Sunday night, and I have to say I am pretty nervous about it going public! The response so far has been amazing and I really hope that everyone who is in it enjoys seeing themselves. We will even be on BBC Sussex at 7:20am this Sunday to talk about it - so tune in if you can!

Thankyou to everyone who leaves comments on my blog and who follows me on bloglovin. It really does mean the world to me and I read every comment that people leave me.

Have a beautiful weekend!
