My Favourite-est Thingymagigs

Ooooooohhh I have missed doing these! It's so very nice to get together all the things that have been making you happy, even in the smallest of ways. I suppose this could technically be called an 'autumn favourites' but really it's just what I've been loving over the past couple of weeks. Seeing as I have not done one of these for a little while, there is quite a looootttt on the list!

White Chocolate!!!
Okay, hold the phone, drop the celery - it's true. I can now eat white chocolate. 'Why is this a big deal?' I hear you cry. Because I have not been able to eat chocolate for a few years due to it giving me migraines. I tried white chocolate a few years ago to see if it was okay, but it still gave me a really bad migraine. Recently I have not had a migraine for a very long time (touch wood) and so I was encouraged to see if white chocolate would be okay. Alas - it is! I am so happy because I adore chocolate so very, very much. Even just being able to eat milky bar buttons every now and again is so good!

The Gemma Doyle Book Series by Libba Bray
Eeeee I have definitely mentioned this before, but now I've finished reading the second in the trilogy. The first is called ' A Great and Terrible Beauty' and I adored it a lot. For me it was a bit like a mix between Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice. There was literally nothing about it that did not appeal to me! 'Rebel Angels' was the second, and I have to say it was definitely on par with the first one. I am hoping to get the third and final book in the series as a Christmas present this year, so I will just have to hold my breath to see what will happen.

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
I was inspired to read this book by Carrie Hope Fletcher, and after reading the blurb, it seemed like something I would gobble up! It's a post apocalyptic novel, which as you may know, is something that I am just such a sucker for. I just can't get enough of them. It's also supernatural in the form of Mediums, Clairvoyants and the Aether which is another thing that I just cannot resist in a book. I'm about 150 pages in and loving it so much so far. Things recently have been getting in the way of me finishing it, but I'm working on it. It's so well written, and the world it creates is so amazing and believable.

Ugly Betty
Me and Jack have been watching Ugly Betty right from the beginning again. Although I watched them all when they first aired, I have forgotten most of what happens so it's like re-discovering a whole new series again. And what a series it is. I adore each and every character - they are so well rounded and well played. There has never been an episode where I did not like what happened. Oh Ugly Betty, why do you only have 4 series?! Also I have discovered that America Ferrera who plays Betty voices the character of Astrid in How to Train Your Dragon -.... awesome.

Assassin's Creed
This is another series that me and Jack have been watching, but this time just a playthrough of the game over Youtube. I don't have a way to play it myself at the moment, and actually, even if I did I would probably be pretty damn rubbish at it. I would just panic whenever someone tried to come after me. What I really care about is the story and the characters. Watching a playthrough is a really great way of experiencing a game without playing it. If I ever get the chance to buy / play it now, I definitely will.

The Sims 3
My baby, The Sims 3. I have followed The Sims since the very first game, religiously collecting expansion packs and watching dedicated youtube channels for it. At the moment though, my game seems to be glitching an awful lot. I had to reinstall it - losing everything - which was not very awesome at all. But that apart, I love playing the game still after all these years. I can't wait until The Sims 4 is released next autumn - I just want it NOW!

Professor Layton and the Spector's Call
After completing all the previous games, I am now on the Spectre's Call adventure from Professor Layton. These games are the perfect mix between adventure, puzzle and awesome story lines. Sometimes they can be a bit slow, but if you're looking for something to relax with they are perfect. The only thing with this one, is that I kind of want it to be over so that I can play the 3DS titles of the games. Ooooo. Maybe in the new year, when I have new money.

MUA - Undress Your Skin Foundation
Recommended by MissBudgetBeauty on Youtube, I bought it because it was on offer for £3 and I really needed a new foundation. At first I really did not like it, the packaging is a flimsy tube so it's so easy to just spill a bucket load out and then you end up wasting it. At first I didn't think the formula was all that either. Now though, as it's the only one I really have, I've learnt to love it. It's a great pale-skin shade, and if you have dry moisturised skin it goes on pretty nicely with a brush. I definitely recommend it for the price.

No. 7 Starry Light's Eyeshadow
A few weeks ago I was looking at the eyeshadows in Boots, and fell in love with this beautiful, highlighting, golden yellow colour eyeshadow. When I got home and sorted through my makeup collection I found that I actually owned it, and just did not know. I'm pretty sure that it came with one of the free gifts from No 7 products a while ago. But anyway, I was pleased as pie. It's gorgeous, and I love it.

No. 7 Cleansing Balm for Dry / Very Dry
I really do not understand why this product does not have more hype - it is so, so amazing for dry skin. You can use a moisturiser too, but I find with this I just rub it into my face, wipe off any excess with a cotton pad and voila! My face is perfectly clean and moisturised, and its now completely perfect for direct foundation application. My skin is always really weird with foundation, it just never goes on right. But with this it always does, every. single time. It's amazing, and I really recommend it.

Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Blemish Stick
Now I do not get spots too often, and I've never had acne (for which I am thankful!). However I get some small blemishes on my skin which have been flaring up recently. Not having experienced it much before, I'm not really an expert on how to get rid of them. This blemish stick was very cheap from Boots, and it has worked amazingly well! If I have a spot the night before, I put some of this on it and by the morning it's practically gone. It has been a lifesaver in some situations, and I am so impressed with it. It stills the spot initially - but I quite like that because it feels like it's working. Makeup can be applied perfectly over it with no problem. It's great!

Agese Oils - Face Glow
This is an odd one. I got a sample of this face oil in my Glossybox this month. I used it on a whim before going to bed once, and my skin in the morning just looked so healthy. It was a real shocker, and I'm happy I have it! It's super pricey full size though, but I will definitely enjoy using this. If you get a chance to buy it / have a sample then it comes fully recommended from me :)

Katy Perry
So, I watched the Katy Perry film documentary on Netflix on a whim, and ever since she has become one of my favourite people. She is a wonderful person, and has worked so hard to be where she is now. I also adore her music, and always have. Go Katy! PRISM, her new album, is awesome.

London Grammar
Cat from Cheshire Cat Chats posted about London Grammar on her blog, and I immediately just fell in love with them. It's beautiful etherial music, and it's calming but not depressing. It's just gorgeous. I would love to see them live. My favourite songs from them are Nightcall and Strong.

CHRISTMAS!!
Yeeeeeesssssssssssssss. Oh yes. Oh yes. It's the Christmas season, and I love it. I just want to cover myself in glitter, go to church and sing Away in a Manger really loudly next to the vicar-who-cant-sing. I can't wait for people to open the presents I have bought them, and I can't wait until all the twinkly lights go up everywhere!

  1. Woo, Christmas! I'm so excited as well! Fairylights, cosy nights, hot drinks, fireplaces...aah blissful! The Gemma Doyle series sound interesting as well, thanks for sharing it!
Of course, congratulations on being able to eat white chocolate! I used to have the same headache problem when I was younger with those white chocolate mice, I still don't eat them today because of it but I like bars of white chocolate all the same!
    Love, Lou xx

  2. Every beauty blogger is talking about "Boots" Lol, what is "Boots" I'm so confused! Is it like CVS?
After I watched the Katy Perry movie I became obsessed with her, she went through so much and is still a very strong woman! Have you heard Dark Horse? It's amazing :)
How did you not live without white chocolate?! I would of died without it because it's just so delicious. I think every girl needs chocolate <3
By the way, it sucks when you have to restart your Sims but sometimes you can save your game play and reload it when you re-install. Do you have custom content when you play?
Oh and one more thing, Assassins Creed is hard at first but I promise once you start playing it you will get use to the game play and it will be so worth it!

Hehe, sorry for the super long comment, I just get excited because most bloggers don't really talk about video games ^.^
