I attempted to make bread yesterday - it was okay. It's tasted quite good actually, considering it was my second try and first try ever on my own; it just developed a bit of a soggy bottom. But it's a good start! Making bread is cheaper than buying bread; it's not a huge saving, but over time it builds up and I think it's always a useful skill to have! I can just imagine becoming a bread making extraordinaire, inviting my friends round for 'tea' with homemade bread.

My plans for today just consist of editing some wedding photos. It feels really good to be finally thinking that I do not have any more weddings to photograph this summer and I can just relax. I am however starting to get a bit low on money. Not disastrously - I can live okay for a few months until my next loan, just not enough to have the fun with my friends that I would like! All my money has disappeared recently. I have earned quite a lot this summer with photography, but I've also had to buy a fridge. In fact if I knew I had to buy a fridge I may not have bought the 3DS. OH WELL that is all in the past. You cannot dwell on the past. I think my plans will just be to spend frugally for the next month or so and when I have an urge to splurge I will buy things I need - like a microwave.

I can't believe it is July tomorrow already. This has been a strange year that has taught me a lot of lessons. July is closer to Christmas! But this whole year has gone quickly. On July 5th last year, me and Jack went to a party; after much awkward dancing and blushing the next day we decided to start our lovely relationship together. July 6th is next saturday. That's one year together in 6 days time. I'm making him a little homemade gift (which I may or may not blog here) and will also get him a small something. Both of us are tight on money so we're keeping it really small. One good thing is that my dad gave me vouchers to eat at an expensive restaurant for my birthday so we're going to use them on Saturday night. It's a pity we can't go and see Despicable Me 2 at the cinema too, but I'm sure we will at some point.

The last two days I've had weird low level anxiety - not doing anything, or worrying about anything in particular. I picked up a book I'm reading at the moment about dealing with various stress and anxiety and it has really really really really helped. If anyone wants to know what book it is then please send me a message and I will tell you. I think I might make some blog posts soon about things that help with stress and anxiety, and also how you can help if someone else is suffering and you want to make them feel a bit better about it. Jack skyped me today and just that ten minutes confiding my fears to someone else and having them be un-judgemental, supportive and positive really makes a difference.

Today I am grateful for the money I have, and that people have faith in me to document the best day of their life.

Reading: A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray
Listening to: Overexposed - Maroon 5
Eating: Rice Crispies
Drinking: Water
Excited for: Doctor Who in November, Series 3 Sherlock, The Sims 4, Pokemon X & Y, next Saturday with Jack, seeing a friend this week, finally seeing Despicable Me 2... soon!!

It you would like to follow me on bloglovin then here is the link :)

Bernard the Cute Fairy

A bit of a lazy day today really, although we walked into town and went to Wetherspoons for lunch - such a huge amount of comfort food it was fantastic! Jack also had a job interview which he will hear back from on Monday. Fingers crossed. Apart from that I've been playing on Animal Crossing a lot (I love my little town Applejam) and am currently lying on the sofa bed in Jack's house and watching Black Books for the very first time. I ate my first macaroon today too. Ooooh.

I'm starting to look forward to uni, and look forward to the summer after and just expanding what I want to do. It's a big bright beautiful world and I've realised that actually I can do whatever I want.

The picture at the top is of Jack's awesome cat Bernard I took on my phone. He was being really cute and fluffy as normal. I like how his paw is reflected back to front on the glass. Naaww.

Shooting A Prom

This evening I shot some pictures of a few of my younger friends going off to their end of school prom. It made me think that my own prom was 4 whole years ago now, and it was a bit nostalgic. Everyone looked so pretty and everyone was so happy. The summer of my GCSE's was probably the best summer of my whole entire life, and I miss it. If you would like to see more of the photos, please look here.

The fridge is here! It's a miracle! We have actual coldness in our house in order to keep our food cold. Magical. Haha, it's great. I have a terrible migraine today though. Ouch. Tomorrow I'm off to Jack's house until Saturday so I'm not sure how much I will be able to blog until there, but there will hopefully be pictures and/or a vlog to come with it anyway.

Walks and Wonderings

I went for a walk today with my little dog Bella and for once I took my camera with me and took some more 'neutral' photos - nothing fancy, nothing with pressure, just simple photos that show the beauty of what is around me. The purple flowers are in bloom at the moment which always makes the woods near where I look look super pretty. There used to be loads, everywhere - but they cut them down in the last year or so. There are still a few scattered around though!

I've been really panicy and sad all day today about the future and what is going to happen. I don't think I got a very good night sleep, it was full of nightmares and horrible things so hopefully tonight I'll get a good night's kip and be fresh as a daisy tomorrow. Because TOMORROOOWWW the new fridge I bought it coming. It's crazy to be so excited about a fridge, but I am very excited to be able to keep things like milk, yoghurt and butter cool again. And freezer food, my old friend, you will return.

Me and Jack are getting into making bread. We made some on Monday which was okay, but we could do it a lot better. And we sure plan to at the end of this week! If it goes well I may vlog it, or definitely take some photos. I will let this blog know how it goes anyway!

Healthy Lifestyle GAHHHH

I am in such a mood to be healthier at the moment, but right now I showered instead of going for a walk, and am sitting here eating boiled sweets. There are a few ways I would like to be healthier, but I know that to change a lifestyle it has to be achievable for me, and not just 'no sweets, all exercise'. It's also harder at the moment because we don't have a refrigerator or a freezer. But that's no excuse. I just like food, really.

 • Snack on bananas and strawberries.
 • Only eat when you're hungry. I always forget and just eat by what time it is.
 • Make healthy muffins and snacks
 • Don't buy big packs of treats - if they're in the house, I'll eat them.
 • Walk the dog more.
 • Do some more yoga.
I had a lot more, but I think these above are just general things that I always forget! I'm going to eat treats too. Off for dinner at my nan's house, will eat in about two hours and I'm still full up from my afternoon lunch and eating sweets. Uh oh.

Today I woke up and went down the town to buy food. I've played a lot on animal crossing, edited some wedding photos, danced to the Mamma Mia soundtrack and soon I'll be off to my nan's house. Not a too bad day!

1000 Origami Cranes

Today I woke up early, got ready, and photographed a wedding. This will probably be by final wedding of this wedding season. Before a wedding I always don't want to go, I think it's a bit of nerves or a bit of strange apprehension of the pressure or something. Whenever I get there though I always have a really good time. Today's wedding was really long, the longest one I have ever shot. I left my house at 10:45am and got back at 8:45pm. Wedding always have loads of really special beautiful moments, but they also have hours of moments that are just waiting around for things to happen - at least when you're the photographer anyway. What I really liked about this wedding though was that between them they made 1000 paper origami cranes as a symbol of good luck. It was so sweet.

I am so, so pleased to be home, even though I did have a good day. I'm just going to chill out tonight and play on Animal Crossing and general 3DS things and maybe read some books or something. I might eat cake too. And crisps. Can you tell that I am really shattered? Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

My 20th Birthday

I have officially been on this planet for 20 WHOLE YEARS. 20 feels like such a big milestone. I have reached the two's and although I am actually quite excited about it, it's also strange and weird.

My mother woke me up fairly early by singing 'Happy Birthday' outside my door, and my present from her is a gorgeous watch I've have my eye on for a while that has a map of the world on it's face. We are also going out to dinner on Monday which will be lovely too! Jack woke up and gave me his gift which was a selection of perfumes from the Miss Dior collection, which is my favourite ever. He also made me some really sweet vouchers for things like 'exchange for flowers' and 'exchange for a massage'. It was so nice.

My dad had given us some vouchers to eat out at a restaurant, but we decided to wait until we really wanted to eat out so it would be a nice surprise and treat at some horrible time when we really needed it. We did go and eat lunch at a little cafe nearby which we love because its just so...trashy. Cheap food, comfort food, what more do you want sometimes?

Random vanity shot waiting for Jack...

I used the Toothless and Charmander badges I purchased at Comic Con this year as my birthday badges. Also - I love my time turner.

A wonderful greasy spoon of a cafe. We love it.

The watch my mum got me as a birthday gift.

Jack and his cheeseburger.

Ham, egg and chips. Perfect.

This is the perfume that Jack got me <3 - also I bought myself some goodies with my birthday money. Another Apocalypse lip glass, bronzing powder and a translucent powder from Rimmel as well as a Bourjois powder brush. The Marilyn Monroe book in the background we spotted at the fair I'm just about to talk about. It will be perfect for my dissertation reading list, plus they were only asking £0.10 for it, so I gave them £0.20 because I felt too bad for only giving them that much!

It also just happened to be the Summer Fair at the school my mother works at, also the primary school that I attended and visit quite regularly. I love the summer fair. It completely reminds me of my childhood. So much fun, and the weather was hot and sunny! Hooray.

We won a coconut at the coconut stall. We were very proud.

We also won orange squash on the drinks raffle.

The coconut was then STOLEN by my dog Bella who thought it was the best fun in the world.

I also FINALLY bought Animal Crossing with some money I got given today. I'm so happy I have it at last. This was Isabelle's reaction to it being my birthday. Whoopee!!

I hope everyone has had a good Summer Solstice. I have had a lovely day. Thankyou to everyone I know. Tomorrow I'm off to shoot a wedding, and I am SO TIRED so I should probably go and get some sleep. :)

3DS XL Crochet Cover

I deliberated as to whether I should buy a Nintendo 3DS for such a long time, it was a hard purchase to make as the XL one that I wanted was about £180 which I don't think anyone I know has just lying around. I wanted to make sure it wasn't an impulse buy. In the end I bought one off of my friend who had not used it at all really. I have to say - best purchase ever. It's just such a good thing to have, and I am so so so enjoying getting into the Zelda fandom. I'm addicted (in a good way) to playing Ocarina of Time 3D, I've completed about half of the game now, and it's so nice if you have a spare few minutes and you're bored to just complete a bit more, and so much fun to see yourself advance through.

Anyway, so as you can see from the picture above I crocheted myself a case for my 3DS XL. It was so simple, I just made a black rectangle that was double the 3DS XL size and then sewed up the edges. I though I would add a Zelda twist with the 2 3/4 hearts (as in the life stats in Zelda) which I'm really proud of - they were super easy. I followed the tutorial I found here for the hearts.

I really like this little case I made <3

I've been staring so longingly at Animal Crossing since before it was released, but it's just too expensive for me to buy at the moment. I mean I could, quite easily, and still be okay, but I've been spending so much money on little purchases recently that I just really shouldn't At least once a day though at the moment you'll see me on the Nintendo e-shop pondering whether or not I should buy it. It's my 20th birthday on Friday 21st June so I think If anyone gives me any birthday money (they may do!) then I might buy it then. If not I'll wait until some time in July.

While on the subject of games, I was so excited about The Sims live conference yesterday evening, as they were 'introducing' The Sims 4. I waiting such a long time for it, and it was pretty much 45 minutes advertising their new game Island Paradise - which does look awesome - and then they showed ONE piece of concept art from the Sims 4. It did look nice, but showed you absolutely nothing. Ah well, apparently it's being officially unveiled on 20th August at some game event in America. So until then, we wait.

Summer 2013 - To Do List

Thankyou to Lou at Bluebird for giving me inspiration for this post :)

Beat Anxiety - Whenever I've had anxiety before I have beaten it by masking what's happening and pushing through. This time I want to get myself really well informed, so I can cope with it whenever I need to. I will start performing and singing again. I will have a successful final year at university. :)

Read More Books - I am so loving this book club I started. We're on the third month now, and I cant wait till each new month starts and I can read the next title. I want to read even more. Why the hell not?

Friends & Family - I am going to spend more time with my friends! They're all returning from university or at the very least being released from uni work. I feel like I've lost touch with so many people for various different reasons. I will see them more.

Photography - Start something new that I will enjoy. Start a documentary. Or just experiment with it. Find my photography vibe again.

Crochet Something Awesome - Whether it be finish my huge blanket or just experiment so I can do something different.

University - Read around my dissertation subject, enjoy it and relish in it! The final year - go for it.

Let's make this summer great.

Shooting at Petworth Park

I finally went to Petworth Park. Fin-all-y. I've been meaning to for such a long time but it's always just not happened or I havent known where to go. My beautiful friend Hannah had some free time so we decided to go down there and shoot some pictures as we havent seen each other in well over a year because of university and moving about. It was so nice to see her, it was like regaining a bit of what I've been missing if you know what I mean. 6th form and school seem such a long time ago now that it was refreshing to be reminded of it. I had no idea what to shoot - to be honest at the moment I kind f feel a bit lost with my photography. Since the client said they weren't keen on my editing I realised that neither am I. I think I've been a bit suckered in to all these (beautiful) kind of conceptual fine art work and lost my way a little bit. I think university has taught me that. I want to do something that no-one else is doing, because I love the medium of photography. Anyway, getting off subject, onto the day at Petworth park.

I loved these deer! I actually got a bit creeped out by them. They where all staring at us intently.

I've had this big sheet of red silk that I bought from ebay for about £0.60 for ages and thought I may as well try and do something with it. It's no an original idea, but it was really fun to shoot, and this may be one of my last kind of 'conceptual' bits for a while. I'm not saying I'll never do them again, I just feel like I shouldn't put so much pressure on myself to do something I don't enjoy so much anymore. This has turned into a photography rant again hasn't it?
Moving on...

We actually started of by taking a few portraits of Hannah, who is annoyingly pretty and photogenic!

Before moving onto taking this shot, which is composed of a few different images...

Wind and long hair do not really mix. Hannah and I.

Myself and Hannah :)

Favourite Artists from London Comic Con 2013

Ever since I came back I've been meaning to go through all the wonderful business cards and artists that I discovered at MCM Expo this year. I remember being so inspired and so excited by their work - I am about to start looking through these business cards right now so this blog can discover them all over again just like me :)

The What Not Tree -
I remember meeting the lovely lady behind this shop. I fell in love with her Harry Potter jewellery, and bought two lovely necklaces. She then (awesomely) gave me a little ravenclaw phone charm to go with it as a free gift. So THANKYOU! I've had a look at their website and unfortunately I do not know which of the people from this collective made these necklaces or anything, so I can't credit someone particularly. But I do recommend you go and check out their work as it's all pretty awesome ;)

Romantically Apocalyptic -
Never bever have I seen artwork that has literally made me stop and go 'woooooowwww'. Just browsing though their website right now I am dying slightly because I want to purchase one of their books SO badly but I can't really spare the money at the moment. Romantically Apocalyptic is a web comic combined with incredible digital artwork, set in an apocalyptic world. I wish I had bought some post cards of this series when I was at Comic Con because I totally regret that now! I wouldn't want to put any of their work on this blog because of copyright reasons, but I really urge you to check them out. This is one of my favourites. GAH. For more information check out this page too as it introduces it quite nicely! Now to try and stop myself from buying their book.

Destiny Blue -
A gorgeous GORGEOUS artist who immediately caught my eye. Her work is really beautiful and she was such a lovely person to meet. It was definitely a job to choose which print I wanted to buy. Eventually I went for this really pretty one. At the moment it's just stuck to my wall, but I'm hoping when I move house I can get it properly framed in a thick white frame or something.

Audrey Molinatti - /
Perhaps my favourite of the lot simply because I loved how her work focused on all the things I adore the most! From her I purchased THREE post cards, more than I did from anybody else. I really, really, really, recommend that you check out all her gorgeous work on her DeviantArt. I bought this MERIDA postcard on a greeny blue background, this ONCE UPON A TIME postcard on a creamy background, and then finally this DOCTOR WHO postcard, although I'm still trying to find it. It's gone walk abouts.

Some other artists I found there:

Note: I have tried my hardest to respect copyright to everything on this blog post, if any of the artists have any queries or would like to give me permission to show some of their pictures on this post them please email me :)

Rainy Rainy Rain

Bonjour. Totally weird couple of days, mostly good though.

One of my photography commissions has really knocked my confidence at the moment, so I'm trying to keep positive about them. It would be unprofessional if I was to go into any detail that is put online, but I'm trying to do the best thing I can, and also think about myself a tad bit more than I usually do. I have decided that I am not going to take on any more weddings in the near future though - I have earned enough money so I can be happy until I go back to uni, and otherwise I would just like to focus all my efforts onto something else.

One beautiful thing - I got a NEW TOY. I feel like a child again, I love it so much. I've been wanting to get a Nintendo 3DS for quite a while, and the release of Pokemon X & Y in October being exclusively for 3DS has pushed me a bit into getting one. I actually got the XL version so it is big and gorgeous and shiny. I bought it off of a friend of mine who had only turned it on about once and had done nothing to it, so it was pretty much brand new bu at a really discounted price. The very first game I have bought is The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time and so far I am so addicted to it. Shocking £39.99 price as a digital download though. I could have got it cheaper online but I just wanted to play on it so badly. All the only games I buy in the future (apart from Pokemon) I will buy discounted and preowned though.

It is currently pouring with rain outside, and everyone I know is moaning about how awful and horrendous and miserable the weather is. I love it. It really calms me down. There is no weather I would rather have for the evening than a mild storm blowing. Seriously! We never get storms here ever. I miss them.

For the rest of the week I am going to edit a BEAUTIFUL wedding from a week or two ago which I loved, and also do things that I enjoy. I'm going to crochet my blanket. I'm going to organize things. I'm going to exercise and I'm going to read wonderful books.

June's Glossybox

I am so excited for June's GlossyBox! Not only did I forget it was arriving, but it arrived about a week earlier than expected and on a Sunday morning just as a needed cheering up. Excellent! To top it off I am so super excited for ALL of the products - seriously.

The ones I got in my June box where:

Organic Surge - Shine Boost Conditioner
Looks so nice from a first impression, I will start using it tonight definitely! I have normal to dry hair and again I've been wanting to try different hair products for conditioning. It smells yummy, and was very exciting when I saw it as it was full size XD Thanks glossy.

Monu Professional Skin Care - Hand and Nail Cream
Never tried anything from this brand before. First impressions is that it's very nice but quite heavily scented. Let's see, I'm a huge fan of hand cream.

Figs and Rouge Cherry Blossom Lip Balm
From first impression this looks beautiful and I've quickly tried it and it's tinted a deep pinky red and is thick and moisturising. YAY. Excited for this..

GOSH Growth Mascara
I've been banning myself from buying mascaras recently because I think they're expensive and it's not really worth having more than one or two. But I've been wanting to try some GOSH products for a while. Full size - YAY!

MeMeMe Long Lasting Nail Gloss
A lovely neutral colour! A nice addition as I've been craving new nail varnish.

A Strange Week With a Happy Weekend

Hello to rabbitwood, the new blog of Jasmine. I'm making this blog as a personal and lifestyle blog to act as a record of my life that I can look back on and remember. Also I'll share any tips of bits of advice that would be good to remember, as it's so easy to forget the things that work.

This week has been a bit of a strange week. I have spent the majority of the week with a cold and really bad congestion and sinus pain. I'm not the greatest person at being ill, as soon as I know that I'm not able to leave the house I start to get really anxious and worried which doesn't really bode well for a happy Jasmine. Luckily the book club's new book is 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' which I have never read before, and it really kept me entertained through the annoying illness. I'm so glad that my current hob I get to work for myself, so I'm not missing too much work wise. The editing of the wedding pictures has suffered slightly because of it though. I have one wedding to finish to send off for monday (80ish photos to edit for then - must crack on!) and then another wedding after that which I actually quite excited to edit through. I am the queen of procrastinating editing wedding photos. I edit the first 50 or so straight off because they are all the photos that I love the most. It's then when I have edit a further 200 or so that I don't think are particularly great on a composition / colour / expression level that gets a tiny bit tedious. I just have to try and remind myself that the bride and groom will appreciate these photos of their family and friends, even if I do not!

On Thursday Jack came round and I *think I can't remember too much* we just ate chips, ham, nice bread and garlic bread for a bit while playing Pokemon TCG and going for a few walks into town.

On Friday we sadly attended the funeral of my Granddad - Ronald Kenneth White who passed away a few weeks ago after a 10 week battle with cancer. We arrived at the funeral a bit early, so beforehand we went and got some food and then walked back to the crematorium where my huge family started to arrive. I was actually very pleased to see my whole family - there are a LOT of us so gathering everyone in one place is a very rare occurrence It's just sad that it had to be for such a sombre occasion, but I saw people who I had missed dearly, and had had no contact with for quite a while. The service itself was teary, we have never really had a family funeral. My mum is nearly 50 and has never been to a family funeral before. But it was a million times easier because they where all there around me. Tissues at the ready. After the funeral we went to a pub near to where I live to celebrate his life, the 'Wake' if you must. I actually had such a wonderful time. Jack met my family for the first time which was wonderful, and I loved properly catching up with everyone - and everyone looked amazing. I particularly had fun with all the kids on the trampoline. They were amazing.

Me and Jack before the funeral.

Me and mum before the funeral.

The flowers me and my cousins bought.
Me and Jack having fun with some of the girlies.
And again!

This weekend I am on my own, and today I have spent the day YET AGAIN procrastinating wedding photos. I think it would be a good idea for me to make my own schedule for the week that I stick to - I always love schedules and they work out really well for me! It's just hard when there are little random things happening, but I suppose if I had a schedule to work to then I could do just that - work around it.

Today I met up for a Costa with the wonderful George. We have been friends ever since Centre Stage Academy and both live in the same town so we catch up every now and again. The new drinks in Costa for Summer 2013 are soooo nice! Sticky Toffee Creamy Cooler and Tropical Fruit Cooler - so so yummy! After we went and sat at St. Anne's Hill and chatted some more and took a few photos before I came home to 'edit wedding photos' and got sidetracked with writing this blog. Woops. Tomorrow I may be meeting up with my friend Ellie, or else just using the time to get these photos finished. I do not like viewing photography in a negative way, I must work on seeing this in a positive light.

George :)

Looking forward to hopefully moving out in September. It's all very up in the air at the moment, but fingers crossed. Fingers. Crossed.

All the best.
